Our hovercraft are commercial spec and covered under the hovercraft code of practice. We offer hovercraft hire and rental services to companies and contractors seeking to charter safe alternatives to conventional work vessels.
Our hovercraft provide rapid support to work crews and operatives working in areas where tidal water levels drop and pose a risk due to soft mud or sudden flooding. We can also provide support on fast flowing rivers where conventional safety boats cannot operate.
UKDS have undertaken several underwater surveys on bridges within Glasgow. The surveys included underwater video and sonar recorded in BCI format
UKDS are currently preparing for safety boat hire operations at London Gateway on the tidal Thames estuary in London.
We will be providing a 7.5 meter Rib boat for standby rescue whilst operatives are working above the water from the dockside. The PLA regulations require a safety boat present whilst crews are working on or over water on the river Thames
Our skippers are highly trained operatives who currently work for the emergency services and previously with the British Military. We will be providing all legal documentation including Rams and certification of both our staff and the vessel.
UKDS provide 3D multi-scanning sonar for underwater marine engineering applications such as bridge, culvert, dam, dock, pier, abutments and sheet piled walls etc. Our company uses the latest hardware and software for visualization of underwater structures using sonar, supporting a multitude of underwater engineering and construction applications and backing any diving inspection so nothing is missed, The underwater inspection of aging structures is essential to assess corrosion, scour, undermining and structural damage etc that may impact a structures integrity
The use of sonar makes for safer inspections as diving may not be requirement or the environment can be pre-assessed for debris accumulation around the structure which can be hazardous to any diving inspection
UK Diving Services are engaged in repairs to the Clachan Duich bridge in the north west Highlands of Scotland. UKDS undertook a scour survey of the structure in February 2015 during which scour holes were found. The repairs to the structure are now underway on behalf of Bear Scotland
UK Diving Services recently undertook an underwater hull survey of the floating restaurant the St Katherine at London Embankment. The survey included UT readings from keel to waterline at 2m intervals. UKDS obtained all diving permits and liaised with the PLA during diving operations.
As part of our continuing operations inspecting and repairing bridges in Scotland Titanium have taken delivery of a new 7.2m offshore RIB powered by a 200HP Suzuki. The vessel cruises at 45mph and is well suited to offshore survey, diving and inspection work
UKDS have taken delivery of a new road transportable lifting barge for on water and difficult to reach lifting operations in the UK
Snaps From Our Latest Diving Operations In Scotland Which Included Diving In Confined Spaces And Voids Under A Bridge
UKDS have won a safety boat hire contract providing rescue support for operatives working at London Bridge during the construction of a new stairway. Our team are supporting Mackley construction during night and daytime shifts.
This is a core project of the Riverside Walk Enhancement strategy and involves replacing the existing staircase that links London Bridge with the Riverside with a new open staircase that is more visible and attractive. The existing staircase is within the bridge structure and has a poor environment and related problems with antisocial behaviour. The new staircase will cantilever over the river and will stand out as a clear link for the increasing numbers of people that use the Riverside Walk.
